Companies House will have sent notification of your WebFiling authentication code to your registered office address soon after your company was registered. If you cannot find this letter, you can obtain a reminder of your authentication code through Companies House WebFiling facility. Simply sign in to your Companies House Webfiling account or register for this service, follow the on-screen instructions and await the arrival of your authentication code reminder at your registered office address.
What is the WebFiling authentication code used for?
Your authentication code is a unique digital password made up of 6 alphanumeric characters. You will be required to use this number, in addition to your account password, to file information online with Companies House using the WebFiling facility, or a free Software Filing facility provided by a company formation agent.
You can use these services to file and update your annual confirmation statement (formerly the annual return), submit annual accounts and update the registered details of your limited company, such as: the registered office address, SAIL address, directors’ details, and secretary details.
The authentication code is required to prevent unauthorised persons accessing your account and filing information without your consent. Therefore, you must not give this code to anyone that is not entitled to such privileges.
