1st Formations has awarded four university students a national scholarship prize for demonstrating their keen business aptitude and entrepreneurial spirit.
Now in its second year, the 1st Formations Business Scholarship Programme is designed to provide additional funding for those who need it most, assisting budding entrepreneurs in accessing the education, skills and knowledge required to run their own business in the future.
After working their way through a record number of applications, our company formation experts have named the first four winners of our second annual competition. They are:
- Rachel Hopkins, an Illustration Animation student at Kingston University
- Alexandros Pamnani, an Industrial Systems, Manufacturing and Management at the University of Cambridge
- Mercy Denedo, an Accounting student of Accounting at Heriot-Watt University
- Miles Waghorn, a Business Management & Entrepreneurship student at Nottingham Trent University
Despite representing a diverse array of skills and interests, all four applicants wowed judges with the help of their managerial ability and determination to succeed in business.
As a result, each student will now be awarded a £600 bursary in order to assist with their studies.
Graeme Donnelly, founder and CEO of 1st Formations, said:
“Our judges had an extremely difficult time judging this year’s entries. We received waves of applications from universities all over the country, and were awarded the privilege of getting to know some of the UK’s top up-and-coming entrepreneurs. But after heavy deliberation, we’re proud to name the first four winners of our second annual Business Scholarship Programme.
“Rachel, Alexandros, Mercy and Miles perfectly exemplify what it means to be a student entrepreneur. They’re shown diligence in their studies, joy in their work and a distinct vision for the future. That’s why we cannot wait to see what the future has in store for this year’s winners.”
1st Formations is one of the UK’s leading company formation agents, offering a comprehensive selection of company registration packages and address services for companies limited by shares, companies limited by guarantee and limited liability partnerships.
