If you have a limited company, it may be handy to have a document with your company formation details to hand. Perhaps you need a reminder of how the company is structured, or maybe you wish to show other directors in the business the company’s current situation.

Either way, here’s how to get a PDF of your company’s information if your company was formed by us or is on our online company manager.

Check your emails

As soon as your company formation application is sent to Companies House, we will email the account holder (this is the person who made the payment when purchasing the package) a PDF of the summary document.

This will have been sent on or before your company’s date of incorporation. Please check your junk mail if you can’t find the email.

Download the company formation summary document

If you can’t find the initial email – or you have made some changes to your company and need an updated version of the document – you can download the summary document yourself. Here’s how to do this:

  1. Log in to your 1st Formations account
  2. Select ‘My Companies’
  3. Select the ‘View’ icon next to your company’s name
  4. Select ‘Documents’
  5. Select ‘Download’ next to ‘Company Summary’

The company formation summary will then open in another tab where you will find the option to download it.

What information is included in the summary document?

Here’s what you can expect to find in the document:

Basic information – including the company name, company number, registered office and company type

Appointments – for each appointment you will see the position held, name, residential address, service address, date of birth, occupation, nationality, and nature of control (for a person with significant control)

Shareholdings – for each shareholder you will see the shareholder’s name, with the class, price, quantity and particulars of the shares that are held

Just to be clear, the document should only be seen by trusted individuals, as the above information is not all listed on the public register.

There you have it. How to view and download a summary of your company information. Please let us know if you have any questions about this, or anything else related to company formations, and we’ll be happy to help.
