Adding your limited company to our free online company manager comes with a number of benefits – but how do you go about importing a company onto the system, and why should you do this in the first place? Let’s take a look.
Your limited company information saved to one secure login
Being able to make online changes to your company is something that you can do with Companies House, but doing it directly with us does have a major plus – and that’s the simplicity of the login process.
To make changes via Companies House you will first need to log in to Companies House WebFiling (or register if you haven’t already done so). Then you need to let Companies House know what company you wish to work on. You do this by providing the:
- Registered office address location
- Company number
- Authentication code
You can then make the necessary updates to the limited company.
The problem is, the company information is not saved to your WebFiling account, so you need to input this every time you log in. This inconvenience is further exacerbated if you have multiple limited companies under your control.
With the online company manager, you only need to provide the company number and authentication code once, it’s then securely saved to your account. What’s more, there’s no limit on the number of companies that you can have in your account.
What you can do with the online company manager
When a company has been added to the system (instructions to follow) you can:
- Change the registered office address
- Edit the reference date
- Appoint, edit or resign company officers
- Download a summary of the company information
- Download share certificates
- Order different company services, including a company name change and confirmation statement service
- Take advantage of our banking and accounting partnerships
You can also carry out general admin tasks from your dashboard, such as viewing your order history, tracking your services and upcoming renewals, downloading invoices, and much more.
Getting your limited company (or companies) onto the online company manager
If you’ve formed a company with us you will already have an account. Simply log in to access the online company manager – your company will be in your account under the ‘My Companies’ option.
If you’re new to 1st Formations, set your account up now (see the ‘New customers’ section). To confirm, this is totally free to do.
Once you’re set-up, to import a limited company onto your account (again, this is free):
- Log in to the online company manager
- Select ‘Import a Company’
- Enter the company number and authentication code (remember, you’ll only have to do this once), then select ‘Search’
- Click on the company name
The company will instantly be added to your account and can be found in the ‘My Companies’ section of the dashboard.
